Invasive Species continue to be introduced at an alarming pace in this region, in Florida in particular. Catching up with Dr Ed Barnard of the Florida Division of Forestry shortly after his comments to the Florida Forestry Association annual gathering in the Florida panhandle, he says expanded world trade is clearly making the problems worse. Barnard suggests that action at the Congressional level is warranted to develop policies to help improve the situation, and says perhaps other countries with more successful protection efforts should be more closely studied for possible solutions.
